Glass Plate Negative Collection Digital Archive

The Cooktown Historical Society secured funding to digitise a collection of old glass plate negatives in storage at the James Cook Museum. Having a background in graphic design, desktop publishing, and working with digital photographs and images I was engaged to work on the collection as digital technician. Really interesting working with the negatives, some in very fragile condition. The detail captured on the original "film" (collodion treated with silver nitrate) revealed after the high-resolution scanning was incredible!
